Tika at the top of the stairs waiting for me.
And Sam at the bottom of the stairs waiting for D to come home.

snuggle time

The old girl (and guy) are doing well. A few days rest and some Meta-cam and she's back to her old self. New carpet runners are on the main floor, along with stair matts on those few steps that didn't have any. Should help to prevent any more slips.

Sam & Rudy. Twins.

I'm sure these two are from the same litter. So many similar traits and well, both from Iqaluit. Both born in September. Chances are pretty good they are related.

Tika

I didn't have time to take a photo yesterday. Tika slipped on the stairs managed to do the splits and that manoeuvre left her with a bad limp. Thanks to a friend I was able to give her an anti-inflammatory (we ran out) and I think that helped. She's resting today and I'll need some Advil today after carrying her up and down stairs.

-18?

If it's sunny, it doesn't matter how cold it is. Sam is quite happy to sit on the front step and soak up the sun.

Life Lessons.

A family had to say good-bye to their 7-year old son and it breaks my heart. I photographed Connor on his first birthday and every birthday after. I'm just very sad. This photo is special to me. I brought Tika to the photo session to meet Connor and for the first time, I saw a connection. I will miss you sweet pea.

Nobody Knows.

On a beautiful July morning, Robert Wein and 4 friends were run down by a van while cycling.
This is a sample of the song, Nobody Knows, that was inspired by Rob's strength, courage and determination. The photos were taken during one of his training sessions.
The full version of "Nobody Knows" is available on iTunes. Search 22.50. All revenue generated by the sale of this song will be donated to Share the Road (www.sharetheroad.ca).

In Rob's words, "This is a song written, and recorded, by Laurie Sweig about the injury that I sustained when the car hit us. iTunes pays $0.74 back for $0.99 songs, and each and every dollar raised goes to help make the roads safer. Do you have kids? Would you donate $1 to an honest, and for-real, organization that will help make the roads safer for them on their bikes? Do you throw a loonie into the hat of a person asking for donations? I'm asking, though I am unable to walk to a location to sit with a hat to ask, and the action of sitting is an effort that I find challenging."
