Small boy. BIG energy!!

Friendly Giants Dog Rescue

I've been searching for a way to do something positive with all the dog photos I take. I approached Friendly Giants Dog Rescue to see if they needed dog photos. Lucky me, they had an event going on this weekend and I was able to make it just in time to take a few photos. The dogs available for adoption are so incredibly sweet. I am not kidding! Shilo, Bree, and Zeus had me considering taking him home. (the closeup of the dog in the grass, he's a kisser!)  I hope these dogs find loving homes soon otherwise I'm going to have to buy a farm and take them all home with me.

Feeling lucky.

People come and go in our lives and even tho' it's been a few years, I feel really lucky to have been asked to photograph this beautiful family. I kinda, sort of met little "A" when I photographed Mom while still pregnant with her.  It's an honour to be given the opportunity to capture a few happy moments on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.

Best word to describe the session today. Cute!

Words can't describe how fun this was.

This session was an adventure from the get-go. Let's see. I have my map / directions from Google Maps. Yes, I know. I'm probably the only person who does not own an iPhone. It's true. And because I am so terrible at finding places, I was smart enough to leave early....just in case. Good thing because I ended up on a dead-end street, in a residential neighbourhood. No farm to be seen. When I have moments like this I call my GPS service aka 'the boyfriend'. Ok, he's not answering. He is at work afterall. But really. I'm lost. I call the client. Then there is that crazy beeping sound that indicates time is running out on your phone. Oh crap. I have been paying through the nose for cellphone charges only because my curent plan is a 'pay as you go' plan. Great when we had a landline, not so great when it's your only phone. I managed to get myself turned around and after a few zig zags along the road, I managed to find the small white sign attached to a fence, hidden under big trees, that I had finally found the farm. Yay. After all that, I was still on time and we had a blast. Now the cute cow trying to mount me.....I don't know what to say about that.

She looks so sad.

I heard sad news from a friend. She said good-bye to her furry friend. I can't imagine how hard that was for her. I look at Tika and I see how much she is slowing down. She's 13. Stairs are a little bit of a challenge. No more jumping on the bed. She's all about sniffing the grass and walking at her own leisurely pace. She's all about comfort, relaxation, and snuggling.  I can't tell you how much I love this dog.

Nico

Good news!

It was nice to see Billy and her Mom at the park recently. Even better was the exciting news she shared. Very excited for her.
